Climate in Gozo
Gozo enjoys four distinct seasons, with mild and sunny weather prevailing through most months thus making it the perfect destination for a winter break in the sun.
(November to February) Gozo enjoys a mild winter with sunny spells. Expect short, thundery spurts, overcast days and the odd storm. Temperatures can drop to 4 degrees at night so warm clothing is a must. The sea temperature still averages at 16 degrees meaning it is still possible to diving if the water is calm.
(March to May) Temperatures rise to around 18 degrees and weather is pleasant with a gentle breeze. Expect sunny days with occasional showers and clouds. Warm weather clothing can be worn but it’s still advisable to bring some long-sleeved options.
(June to August) Because of its small size and proximity to the sea Gozo does not get as hot as Malta, but still summers are scorching. A sea breeze is ever present but temperatures can rise into the 40s so precautions should be taken and very light clothing is advised.
(September to November) September is still a hot month but a stronger breeze becomes evident towards the end of it. Temperatures can drop, and thunderstorms are possible. The sea temperature averages at 24 degrees so diving is very possible. Long sleeved options, as well as lighter clothes, are recommended.
